JunkFood
︎ Packaging design
︎ Rebranding
School project, Danish School of Media and Journalism, 2021
JunkFood is an initiative by Michelin chef Rasmus Munk and the financier Lars Seier Christensen. Their ambition is to secure a warm meal everyday for the people on the streets in Copenhagen.
In 2021 JunkFood developed a productline of ketchup. When you buy one you are contributing to the meals for the homeless. The ketchup is a gourmet product but the existing design didn’t convey this message.
Therefore i designed the label in a monocrome style to take advantage of the already existing conventions that luxurious products in this category often have white and minimalistic labels.
I redesigned the logo to make it more modern and simple. The curves and bumps on the letters tells the story of grafitti and the people of the street who has probably hit a few bumbs along the way.
To make the product stand out on the shelf i chose to enlargen the logo and the cut-out-like-illustrations of the flavours so it exceeds the physical boundaries of the original square label.
